I am a designer and painter originally from Savannah, Georgia and now live in Greenville, South Carolina.
I studied Drawing and Painting at The University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia and went on to study Fashion Design at Parsons School of Design in New York City. While in school I had wonderful experiences studying abroad in both Cuba and Italy, and those pursuits shaped me as an artist in many ways.
While classically trained, my work has led me to a more contemporary palette and subject matter. Most of my inspiration comes from the coast, and I draw upon the memories of my childhood home on an island outside of Savannah.
I am interested in color, texture, shape, and movement. Balanced composition, energy, and fun are my artistic pursuits.
In my spare time, I run the Art School I started when I launched Marquin Designs, called Vino & van Gogh. I see it as a fun way to engage the local community with art and the creative process. The studio also doubles as an art gallery for my work: it is open to the public by appointment only.
I have had the great pleasure of studying under Gary Bodner, Robert Joyner, Melanie Morris, Patricia Kilburg, Patricia Wheeler, Patti Brady, and Phil Garrett.
