Years ago I was poking around with my Grandmother in her attic and she pulled this quilt out of an old trunk. It was and is such a true work of art that has inspired me for years and years.
It was created by a Great Grandmother seven generations back (you can see her signature in thread!) and also features some areas she painted. I love how you can see her hand and eye in the piece: color choices, stitches, and design motifs abound in here. It's been the singular pieces of art that has combined a deep love of fivers and painting work into one big ole piece.
I love seeing where creatives draw inspiration from and for me, so much inspiration has come from this crazy quilt!
